MVP Development Program
The dream commands life.

Reconcile studies with sports practice, maximize individual potential and take it to the highest level, in a routine very similar to that of a North American university. A 10-month program per year (September to June) tailored to prepare the athlete for the next step, with all possibilities open.

The first step is to fill out a form that provides initial academic, sporting and physical information. It is important to send a video.
Note: We have a limited number of places, so it is essential to register months in advance.
For the next academic year 2025/2026 our program has an annual cost between €9,000 and €25,000 , depending on your academic choice (University student, Secondary School, UK Curriculum), whether you have accommodation, food, and other expenses that may or may not be included.
Short-term programs are designed to have an impact on participants, with a similar atmosphere and intensity to the annual MVP Academy program, with a focus on individual development. From a 3-day experience to the 14-day MVP Future Stars.

EYBL - EUROPEAN YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Every year some of our athletes are chosen to participate in the EYBL, a European league with more than 180 teams from more than 25 countries.
It is a fantastic experience for all participants, with top-level games and athletes. Each stage is played in two different times/countries, with a minimum of six games per team.
In 2024-2025 MVP Academy participates in two training levels, U17 and U20
INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS
Whenever there is an international tournament in Portugal, we participate with our teams, such as the 2021 Portugal Basketball Festival, where we won the men's U18 category. In previous years, we went to Italy and Spain with the same purpose, having won an edition of the EuroCamp Cesenatico in the women's U19 category.
Tournaments with international teams always give us the opportunity to play against opponents with a different sporting culture and expand our network of contacts.
FPB NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The partnership with the local club Rio Maior Basket, through which the athletes play, allows participation in FPB federated competitions.
Every year we have teams that qualify for the National Championship and/or National Cup, thus providing athletes with a higher quality competition that allows them to improve their performance.
DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS
SANTAREM + LISBON/SETUBAL
In addition to the district competitions by the Santarém Basketball Association in the various training levels, we also participate in the Lisbon / Setúbal U21 Inter-association District Championship to give them more minutes and challenges, in a competition with increasingly better quality.

PREPARATION GAMES
In 2021, we signed an agreement with a basketball academy in Badajoz to hold preparation matches throughout the year. It is a very different reality, where, once again, athletes are faced with another level of basketball, which forces them to grow and develop their technical skills throughout the year in order to be better prepared for the next match.

With the medium- to long-term development of student-athletes in mind, we make individual and collective plans that do not necessarily involve winning the next game, but rather being prepared at the end of their journey at the MVP Academy so that they can seize every opportunity they have. To do this, they need to be constantly challenged, learn about other realities, play against bigger, stronger, technically better opponents, so that the desire to equal and surpass them grows day by day, training session by training session, game by game.

Since 2019, the year the MVP Academy project began, several athletes have passed through the academy, with different characteristics but with similar goals. Some have continued their international careers in universities and/or teams in the USA, England, Scotland, or Italy.
